The Olde York Street Fair is a Mother’s Day tradition in downtown York. The event takes place in and around Continental Square. This free event features more than 100 vendors of handmade arts and crafts, a Kid’s Fun Block with bounce houses, games, face painting, and coloring pages, plus other entertainment.
Food vendors will sell a variety of traditional American festival food as well as original creations. Fifty percent of all food vendor proceeds will go to support local non-profit organizations. Ticket sales in the Kid’s Fun Block will support York City Special Events.
Free parking and shuttle bus service will again be available from HACC York Campus (2010 Pennsylvania Avenue). Drop-off locations downtown will be at the intersections of West Market Street and Pershing Avenue and East Market Street and Pine Street. The first shuttle will leave HACC at 12:00 noon and the last shuttle will leave downtown at 6:00 p.m. Sincere thanks to Green Mountain Energy for sponsoring this service.
The Olde York Street Fair will begin with remarks from Mayor Bracey and the singing of the National Anthem by Danara Muldrow, a William Penn High School student. Please scroll down below to download this year’s entertainment schedule.
York County Libraries and Positive Energy Arts Foundation will again present #DanceStreetYork in the first block of North George Street, with performances by Illstyle & Peace Productions, Kat Choreography, Ladies of Hip Hop, Crispus Attucks SouthSide Steppers, Temple Guard Drill Team, and more.
The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in front of the York County Historical Society Museum, 250 East Market Street. To schedule an appointment, please call 1-800-RedCross or visit www.redcross.org. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments will take precedence. All visitors attempting to donate blood during the Olde York Street Fair will receive two tickets to the Penn-Mar Irish Festival.
The York County History Center is again planning tours at their Colonial Court House Complex (on the corner of West Market Street and Pershing Avenue) and ice cream sundaes and root beer floats will be sold at the Historical Society Museum (250 East Market Street).
